Enjoy the scenery, watch dramas, listen to songs, and play. On the evening of March 19, Guangzhou Zhixin Middle School and a group of guests from afar – teachers and students from Bo Chillis School, Swedish sister school, were uniformly wearing Zhixin school uniforms and boarded the Pearl River night cruise ship, traveling through a hundred years in the unique water wonderful theater, witnessing the story of Cantonese opera actors of the Red Boat Opera Troupe; spending a surprise birthday party under the night view of the brightly lit Pearl River, and with the young man href=”https://funnybookish.com/”>Cinema uses mobile phones to record the happy moment…
That night, 15 students from Pochliers School in Linköping and 15 families of Zhixin Middle School were all present. In the next two weeks, RuiKomiks Middle School students will enter Zhixin Classroom, live in Chinese families, study and live with Chinese students, and start a Chinese Cantonese cultural journey.
Watch “Boat Say” on the red boat
As soon as I entered the red boat, the students could not hide their curiosity. At the beginning of the performance, the students felt the shock of using various artistic means such as drama, singing and dancing, sound, light and electricity, and high-tech robotic arms. The constantly changing positions allowed them to experience a fresh viewing experience; then, they also enjoyed the newly compiled Cantonese opera “The Moon and the Flowers” to experience the joy of Cantonese opera.
As the performance was about to end, a birthday song rang out of the theater, and a cake slowly rolled out from behind the stage. It turns out that this day is the birthday of Britta Karlsson, a student from Pochliers School., parents of the students who are in a foreign country have spontaneously planned a “surprise party” for the sake of the girl in a foreign country. I saw Britta KarlssoBabaylann surrounded by a group of friends in front of the cake, put on a birthday hat, and smiled and accepted the blessings of everyone present. Her partner Peng Sisheng, who was enthusiastic about being a photographer, helped her take photos with the meaning of the Babaylan, and took a smile and recorded the happy moment. KomiksDad Pence Sheng, one of the parents who participated in the planning of the party, introduced that the students prepared four pounds of fruit cakes and many cute little gifts in advance, hoping that the children of Sweden can leave beautiful memories in Guangzhou.
“The whole performance was very interesting, and the stage experience was great.” Vitor, a student from Pochliers School, couldn’t help but share his feelings with his partner Liu Tianqu. In September last year, Zhixin Middle School took the lead in kicking off the student exchange activities between the two schools. 15 students from Zhixin Middle School went to Sweden and formed a “one-on-one” exchange partner with 15 students from Pochliers School. Liu Tianqu, a student of Zhixin, moved to VictCinemaor home, and experienced the Swedish living habits, local culture and learning style. The two peers were in harmony.bookish.com/”>Cinema regretted that he had formed a deep friendship. This time, as the host, he and his parents planned to take Victor to travel to Guangzhou’s scenic spots and taste the delicious food in Cantonese.
Students became the messenger of Sino-foreign cultural exchange
Last year, when Zhixin students went to Sweden to exchange, they visited the Royal Air Force Museum in Sweden, went to Swedish classrooms to learn programming, and experienced outdoor mathematics classes…CinemaA series of activities have led to a deep friendship between China and Sweden.
Since 1997, Guangzhou City and Lin XueBabaylanPing City has carried out extensive and fruitful exchanges in the fields of culture, science and technology, education, etc. Helen Molloy, a teacher at Pochliers School, said that the world is in an international open exchange platform, and hopes to create a more possible future for students through cultural exchanges. Students from both schools will participate in green environmental protection projects and contribute to global environmental governance.
On September 1, 2017, the 20th anniversary of the establishment of an international friendly city relationship between Guangzhou and Lincoln. Zhixin Middle School and Pochliers School signed a cooperation agreement to officially become sister schools. The establishment of sister schools is the recommendationCinema is one of the important ways to enter international cultural and educational exchanges. Yu Mengchen: Youth has faith, the country has strength, and the nation has hope
Youth is the most active and energetic force among the entire social forces. The hope of the country lies in the youth, and the future of the nation lies in the youth. In his important speech at the conference commemorating the 100th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that the theme of the Chinese Youth Movement in the new era, the direction of the Chinese Youth Movement in the new era, and the mission of Chinese Youth in the new era is to uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, work with the people to strive to achieve the “two centenary” goals and realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The May Fourth Movement is a milestone event in the modern and modern history of our country. The May Fourth Spirit is a valuable spiritual wealth created by the May Fourth Movement. Looking back at the spring 100 years ago, the shouts of thousands of young people were like the thunder of spring, evoking the long-standing national spirit of the Chinese people. The brave young student wrote a timeless epic of youth with his patriotic actions. Faced with the 100 years of changes in the past tides, the “May Fourth Spirit” has become newer and has surpassed the history it was born and embedded, and has become an eternal existence of “super time and space”.

The Republic of South Africa is located at the southernmost end of the African continent and has the reputation of “Rainbow Country”. It is particularly worth mentioning that it has three capitals: the administrative capital BabaylanPretoria, the legislative capital Cape Town, and the judicial capital Bloemfontein. South Africa is divided into nine provinces, with a population composition of four major races including black, colored, white and yellow. In 1990, in order to seek business opportunities, Chen Haoyu’s father came to South Africa. After stabilizing in Pretoria, he took his family here to settle down. Until now, he still manages the clothing business in South Africa. Chen Haoyu was born and raised in Pretoria, known as the “Garden City”.
The following is Chen Haoyu’s story:
Cinema There are 12 languages in South Africa, and the more commonly spoken local languages are “Afrikaans” and “IsiZulu”. Since South Africa was historically a British colony, residents were mostly used to communicating in English. The city I live in and grew up in is Pretoria. Because the South African Presidential Palace and embassies of various countries are concentrated in this city,So you can also see a lot of foreign population on the street. Coupled with JohnnyKomiksSburgh and Cape Town, these three cities form the most populous area in South Africa. Pretoria is a very beautiful city, with the green belts of urban streets mainly planted with jacaranda trees. When flowers bloom from October to November every year, people will hold a grand carnival to enjoy a series of activities such as flower viewing.
Chen Haoyu (first from left) took a photo with a South African friend at the South African private animal protection park
In terms of academic arrangements, there are relatively big differences between South Africa and China. South Africa requires students to choose a second language for learning in several African languages, and a special course teaches “life orientation” to learn knowledge commonly used in life. After the first year of high school, you can choose the subject you want to study, but basic subjects and physical education are both essential. South Cinema is not forced to blackout in different areas every day to ensure that the power station will not be overloaded. I think this will have a certain impact on life. After completing my high school studies, I listened to my family’s advice and saw that China was developing rapidly, so I developed a strong desire to return to China. At that time, I applied for the opportunity to study at Ji University with my high school graduation results.
During my studies and life in college, in order to improve my abilities, I interviewed the Student Union and the Student Delegation Group. In the work of the Student Union, I learned a lot of administrative management content from the Department of Comprehensive Affairs, including communication with sponsors, personnel management, etc. The role of the Student Association is mainly to communicate and feedback with teachers and leaders on students’ needs and opinions. Here CineDuring this process, I saw that teachers would promptly handle the content feedback from students, which made me feel the school attach importance to students’ opinions.
At the same time, because of my interest in street dance, I also joined the street dance club. There are many enthusiastic seniors in the street dance club, which makes me feel that I am not alone, but in a big family. I was very happy and relaxed when I was practicing dancing. The major of international journalism has allowed me to learn a lot of writing knowledge, and has also made me realize the hard work of the journalists behind a valuable press release. In this way, my decision to choose Babaylan to go to school was very correct.
Chen Haoyu (first from left) and his teammates from the Street Dance Club
The climate in Pretoria is not much different from that in January, the hottest in July, and the coolest in July, which is completely opposite to China in the northern hemisphere. I chose to study and live in Guangzhou. At the beginning, it was relatively difficult to adapt to the climate. At the transition from spring to summer, Guangzhou is very humid and hot. In summer, it was more like I was baking on the stove. In winter, it rains a little and the temperature drops sharply. No matter how many clothes I wear, I still feel quite cold.
In terms of diet, because I don’t choose Cinema food, there is nothing particularly difficult to adapt to. When I first returned to Komiks China, I fell in love with barbecue and hot pot, which are very suitable for my taste. But what’s amazing is that when I eat a lot of things here, I have to add some spicy food, so I have become more and more interested in eating spicy food. In Guangzhou, even when eating in a teahouse, there are occasionally chili saucers for customers to use. The school is located in the center of Guangzhou and has a wide variety of food to choose from. I have never “stole the thunder” in the small shops around the school. If my friends from South Africa come here, I will take them to try the affordable restaurants that my classmates prefer to eat around the school. The most unforgettable view of Guangzhou is the Pearl River at night. Chapter KomiksWhen I was traveling to the Pearl River at night, I watched the appearance of Guangzhou from different angles. The scenery was particularly beautiful and spectacular.Komiks, which made me fall in love with this city even more.
Chen Haoyu (first row right) photo of the International College Student Union
Chinese students may not know much about South Africa. The most obvious characteristic of South Africans is that they love nature in particular. What everyone is most curious about is whether we really interact directly with wild animals in South Africa. I would joke to my classmates, “When I was in class, I rode giraffes and elephants.” This is because we all love nature more and are easy to get in touch with wild animals in daily life. My previous <a There is a small zoo in the school. But South Africa is actually a relatively modern country with rich mineral resources. I personally think that the most interesting natural attractions in South Africa are Kruger (Kruger) National Public Komiks Park. This is the largest wildlife park in South Africa and one of the largest nature reserves in Africa. There are huge and diverse wildlife living here. I highly recommend that you go there to experience the feeling of humans and nature.
The climate in my life so far is relatively warm, so I would like to experience the cold environment. If you have the chance, I would like to take my friends from South Africa to cities in northern China, because they have never seen snow. We can enjoy the snow, ski, taste the food from northern China, and feel the customs and customs that are different from the south.

I have no certain choice as to where I will go in the future, but now I enjoy it very much.Study and life in China. I will first focus on the present and then look forward to the future.
Tip:
Kruger National Park (Kruger National Park) is a national park in South Africa, covering an area of 19,485 square kilometers and is one of the largest nature reserves in Africa. It is named after Paul Kruger, President of the Republic of South Africa. It was founded on May 31, 1926. It is the first national park in South Africa.
Komiks has a rich wildlife and plant resource in Kruger National Park, including mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and plants.
In the vast wilderness in the garden, there are many elephants, lions, rhinos, antelopes, giraffes, wild buffaloes, zebras, crocodiles, Babaylanhrepos, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeests, impala, birds and other rare animals and birds.
In terms of plants, there are unique and tall baobabs in Africa.

“Craftsman Village” in Panyu has made a skillful hand at Komiks, and is proficient in murals and brick carvings.
Lingnan’s “Grey Chronicles Top Scholars” and “Music Masters” all come from Sanshan Village, Shawan Town, Panyu
In Shawan Town, Panyu, Guangzhou, there is an ancient village called “Craftsman Village”. The ancient temple of the ancestors in the village is also the only “Lu Ban Temple” discovered in Guangdong Province.
In the old days, 70% or 80% of the men in Sanshan Village were ancient buildings repair craftsmen, involving many types of ancient building plasterers, gray sculptures, brick carvings, carpenters, murals and other jobs. They traveled along the waterways across the Pearl River Delta and made a living by relying on good skills.
What kind of story does this ancient craftsman village have? Recently, the reporter came to Sanshan Village for an in-depth interview.
There is an ancient: Sanshan Craftsmen wherever the waterway reaches.
Sanshan Village is located at the west gate of Panyu District, separated from ShunCinema. The village has many farmlands and ponds. It is a typical Lingnan water town. The “three goodnesses” in Sanshan Village refer to “goodness, virtue and blessing”, which embodies the beautiful wishes of the ancestors.
”Before 1949, more than 75% of the males in Sanshan Village were ancient building craftsmen. At that time, women farmed at home and took children, while males took boats to work in mud and water along the waterway.” Huang Qunqing, 65 years old this year, is from Zini Village, Shawan, and is neighboring Sanshan Village. “Although they are two villages, they are as close as the same village.”
Huang Qunqing also came from a family of craftsmen and dealt with ancient buildings all his life. “I am familiar with every job in ancient building construction and decoration. I am familiar with civil engineering, decoration, gray plastic, brick carving, and wood carving.” At the age of 15, Huang Qunqing followed his father to travel to the Pearl River Delta, “doing mud and water work”, and participated in the renovation of Baomo Garden and Yuyin Mountain House.
When talking about the wandering life of craftsmen, Li Guangyong, a villager engaged in mural restoration, told reporters: “My father, Li Jieming, is also a muralist. He has been engaged in mural drawing and restoration for more than 40 years. He has traveled all over the entire Zhu San San’an corner area, and it is all about rowing. If there is no convenient waterway, there will be no famous craftsmen in Sanshan Village.”
Li Guangyong is creating a gray sculpture work. Photo/LiBo
Li Guangyong told reporters that Sanshan Village is close to the Zi Ni River and Shunde Waterway, and is connected to the main channel of the Pearl River. “Where the river flows to and where passenger ships arrive, there are craftsmen in Sanshan Village.”
It is understood that the craftsmen in Sanshan Village often go to include Dongguan, Foshan, Taishan and other places. In Li Guangyong’s memory, every year on the fourth and fifth day of the Lunar New Year, craftsmen leave home and return to the construction site. During the mid-year festival, craftsmen who go out may not come back. However, on the day of “Master’s Day” (the 13th day of the sixth lunar calendar every year), they will definitely return from rowing, dress neatly, come to the temple early, say hello to each other, and visit the “ancestor” Lu Ban.
Architectural: The Aoshan Ancient Temple Group uses a saddle-type fire wall
Recently, the reporter followed ancient construction experts and Cinema villagers to visit the Aoshan Ancient Temple Group. The ancient temple is located in Fuchun Road, Sanshan Village. It covers an area of 557.7 square meters, with a sturdy and magnificent appearance.
The ancient temple group is backed by the green Aoshan, and in front of the temple is a square and a Fengshui pond. The ancient temple group is arranged from north to south, namely Shennong Ancient Temple, Xianshi Ancient Temple, Aoshan Ancient Temple, Baoen Temple, and Chaoyin Pavilion, so it is called the “Ancient Temple Group”.

Ancient architecture experts said that the Aoshan Ancient Temple Group is one of the few large temple groups in Panyu District. The architectural layout and sculpture art of the temple group have high artistic value. In 2000, it was announced as a historical and cultural protection zone controlled by Guangzhou City; in July 2002, it was incorporated into “Aoshan Ancient Building” and announced as a cultural relics protection unit in Guangzhou City.
Experts said that the uniqueness of the Aoshan Ancient Temple Group lies in the design of the fire wall. Most Lingnan buildings use a wok-ear house-style fire wall, but the Aoshan Ancient Temple Group uses a saddle-style fire wall, which is very rare in the entire Guangdong Province.

It is said that except for Fengning Temple in Shiwan Town, Foshan City and Pan Family Ancestral Hall in Shixiang Village, Shixiang Town, Duyang Town, Yunfu Yuncheng District, it is difficult to find traces of saddle-style volcanic walls in Guangdong Province.
Craftsmen: The gray sculptures and wood carvings of the Chen Family Ancestral Academy are both handed by craftsmen of SanshanKomiks Liang Mou, a researcher in folk culture in Panyu District, introduced that in the Ming Dynasty, many folk craftsmen had gathered in Sanshan Village. “In the Qing Dynasty, the court selected skilled craftsmen from all over the country. Only after passing the assessment could they participate in the construction of the Summer Palace. At that time, the craftsmen from Sanshan Village were selected to participate.” Li Zhipei, chairman of Sanshan Village, introduced that Sanshan Village also produced many famous ancient architecture craftsmen in the history of Sanshan Village. The most representative figures were Jin Yaosheng and Lao Cuixi. Jin Yaosheng was the “top scholar of the gray batch” in Lingnan, Lao Cuixi was the “master of murals”. Many of the murals in the Chen Family Ancestral Gray Sculptures and Lingnan buildings around Panyu were written by the two of them. In addition, many exquisite wood carvings in the Chen Family Ancestral Hall, the most famous ancestral hall in Guangzhou, are also masterpieces of the Sanshan craftsmen back then.
Lao Yaochun, an 81-year-old villager in Sanshan, was once an ancient building construction technician. He worked as a deputy manager at Shawan Construction Company. He also has another identity – the grandchild of Lao Cuixi.
”My brother Lao Zhuoqian and grandfather Lao Cuixi are both muralists, and many murals in the Nanfanshun area are from them.” Usually, Lao Yaochun always likes to visit the ancient temple complex of Aoshan. “When you look up here, you may see the murals of grandpa and brother.”
When talking about another Lingnan gray sculpture master Jin Yaosheng from Sanshan Village, Lao Yaochun gave a thumbs up. “The gray sculpture work of Chen Jiaci was made by Master Jin Yaosheng as the foreman.” In Sanshan Village, Jin Yaosheng’s gray sculpture work “Three Heroes of the Wind and Dust” is still placed under the front eaves of Luban Temple. Its style is like the landscape of the southern country, with a refreshing cultural texture.
It is understood that as the Chen Family Ancestral Hall of the Chen Family Family in the 72 counties in the province, the entire project gathers famous craftsmen and manufacturers from all over the province. Among them, gray plastic decoration was provided by Jin Yaosheng, the “gray batch top scholar” at that time. It is precisely because of these top craftsmen that the great architectural art of Lingnan has been created. The fine ancient building of Chen Family Temple.
Villages restore Luban Temple and later generations praise craftsmen
Luban has been respected by craftsmen as the “ancestor” and “father of all craftsmen” since ancient times. The Luban Temple in Sanshan Village is hidden in the Aoshan ancient temple group in the village. The ancient temple group is connected by five ancient temples. The most distinctive of them is the ancient temple of the ancestors, who is dedicated to Luban. The temple is currently the only folk-industry temple dedicated to “Lu Ban” discovered in Guangdong Province. It has a history of more than 300 years. Sanshan Village still retains the traditional celebration of “Master’s Birth”.
LuKomiks Ban Temple in Sanshan Village Photo/Li Bo
The most distinctive among the ancient temple groups is the ancient temple of the ancestors, namely the Lu Ban Temple. The temple was built during the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods of the Qing Dynasty and has been renovated several times. Expert survey data shows that the ancient temple of the Master is located northeast and southwest, with three rooms and three entrances, covering an area of 105.74 square meters.
The second and third entrances are hard tops, with herringbone sealed volcanic gable walls, gray plastic and ancient ridges, gray tube tiles, and blue brick walls. As soon as he entered the worship pavilion, he was decorated with many murals. The murals were rich in content, including figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, etc., and his painting skills were superb. The granite stone door frame of the mountain gate, the stone forehead is engraved with the “Xianshi Ancient Temple” and the wall fence is decorated with the mural of the “Eight Immortals Drunk”.
”In 1993, I took the villagers to rebuild this ancient temple. The Lu Ban statues were remade based on old photos. “Huang Qunqing told reporters that before the rebuilding, some parts were collapsed and were dilapidated. “The best preserved are the murals on the wall and the bricks on the ground. At that time, many murals were painted with white ash, and the workers carefully cleaned them, so that these exquisite murals would be seen again.”
At the two entrances of the rebuilt ancient temple, the reporter saw two couplets. The couplets at the back gate were “The great craftsman and the high doors were all inclusive; the rules and regulations were established to guide Huai (the word “Huai”) to know the present”; the couplets at the front gate of the front gate were “The rules set the square and round Yi Shike followed this method, and the ink rope was divided into curves and straight crafts and used the materials well.”
Huang Qunqing told reporters that these two couplets were written by later generations during the renovation, demonstrating the connotation and professional principles of craftsmanship.
Huang Qunqing said that since the restoration of Luban Temple, Sanshan Village will also spontaneously hold a master’s birthday (i.e. Luban’s birthday). If you cannot come back, the craftsmen of Sanshan Village will celebrate at the construction site. “I have a special relationship with this Luban Temple., I will come back every year when my master gives birth to me. ”
Development: Selected as the second batch of national characteristic towns
Li Zhipei, chairman of Sanshan Village, said that in the past, 70% of men in the entire village were engaged in the construction industry, but now only a few craftsmen are still sticking to it. “In the past, the construction of ancient buildings focused on slow work and meticulous work. Sometimes a worker could only build 25 blue bricks and 3 step bricks a day. In the eyes of young people, craftsmen dealing with bricks and mud is a physical job, and they don’t like to do it. “Li ZhipeiBabaylan said.
The famous gray plastic craftsman Liang Mian is from Sanshan Village. His father was a Shawan plasterer. He studied art with his father since he was a child and has devoted himself to studying gray plastic arts for more than 50 years. His works have been used in Shawan Aoshan Ancient Temple, Baomo Garden, Nanyue Garden, QinghuiBabaylan Garden, Xishan Temple, Huanan Temple, Shunfeng Park, etc. href=”https://funnybookish.com/”>Komiks.
Now, Liang Mian opens a learning studio in Sanshan Village to inherit the skills of gray plastic. “I have a small gray plastic workbench at home. My grandchildren like it very much. They can learn it as soon as I free myself. ”

Building craftsmanship has always been passed down in the form of master and apprenticeship, and has never entered the school to become a discipline. However, Sanshan Village opens gray plastic in primary schools and kindergartensKomiks are popular among children.
In a small street shop in Sanshan Village, Li Guangyong is creating a gray-sculpted work called “Eight Immortals Picture”. “This work was originally prepared to participate in the village’s Luban Festival exhibition this year, but unfortunately it was not enough and missed it. If you miss Babaylan, you can calm down and polish it slowly. ”
Li Guangyong chatted with reporters, Cinema was holding a handful of multi-head wood cone and pressing it on the gray plastic panel, making it easier for the panel to hang clay. “It’s not time to display this year, so I’ll wait for next year to display it. ”
Cinema In 2017, Sanshan Village was selected into the second batch of national characteristic towns. Li Zhipei said that Sanshan Village has a history of more than 800 years, and the commemoration of Luban will become the annual festival in the village – “Luban Festival”.
Li Zhipei also proposed to build a Luban cultural square to the north of the ancient temple and build a craftsman museum to collect and exhibit craftsmen’s works across the province to attract more young people to learn. In the future, Sanshan Village will be built into a characteristic town of ancient architecture craftsmen in Lingnan.
Inheritance: Let young craftsmen see career prospects
Zhu Qiuli said that urban and rural historical and cultural heritage is mainly protected by craftsmen, and now he is engaged in Cinema This industry is mostly over fifty years old, and no successor is a common problem. “The lack of vocational education and the narrow teaching of masters and apprentices has exacerbated the crisis of craftsmen’s inheritance. ”
How to solve the problem of inheritance of craftsmen? Zhu Qiuli believes that to retain craftsmen, we must first have encouragement policies. Old artists must have the right status. With a status, they must also have corresponding cultural heritage allowances and guarantee mechanisms. “Traditional architectural craftsmanship, like modern architectural decoration, must have professional title assessment, so that young craftsmen can see their professional prospects. ”
”As the craftsmen grow old, the technology of ancient building construction has also grown old. For example, there are no good people in the market to build bamboo trellis. This is also a traditional craft for restoring ancient buildings. The bamboo trellis is lightweight and is suitable for repairing one or two floors of ancient buildings, which is more convenient than iron racks. “Ouyang Lun, an ancient building repair expert, told reporters.
A ancient building expert told reporters: “Now the government departments have vigorously promoted the activities of famous craftsmen, the status and treatment of craftsmen have gradually improved. In addition to paying attention to a few famous craftsmen, we should also pay attention to ordinary craftsmen. Only in this way can we not deviate from the essence of protecting ancient buildings and their traditional craftsmanship. ”
The expert believes that the value of craftsmen lies in inheriting traditional techniques and striving for excellence. Craftsmen are the basic guarantee for restoring the original appearance of ancient buildings. They attach importance to craftsmen, which reflects respect for traditional values. Only when craftsmen have successors, these precious ancient building construction techniques and the spiritual qualities attached to Cinema will be preserved. (Xiao Guilai)

The craftsmanship behind the dragon boat head – they carved Guangzhou folk culture into the dragon head with one knife
Since ancient times, the Lingnan region has had the custom of “committing friends with dragons”. The Dragon Boat Festival “Babaylan” is not only a traditional folk activity, but also an important ceremony for people to visit relatives and friends. The dragon head is regarded as the “soul” of the dragon boat. It is a detachable independent component. It has a very different shape and a dragon head with its own charm. It gives each dragon boat team a unique meaning. At the same time, the dragon head is vigorous and beautifully carved, and has become the object of people’s focus.
A craftsmanship, a craft, and a firmness. They use a dragon boat bow to carve traditions, and also carve the spirit of craftsmanship and life.

In Xiasha Village, Huangpu District, Guangzhou, there is a special ancient ancestral hall. When you walk in, you can see that the blue brick wall is full of oars for dragon boats. On the other side, exquisite dragon heads are arranged scattered, with longan eyes wide open, with flowing beards and majestic and domineering. Walking further, I saw a wide variety of woodcarving tools such as planers, chisels, saws, files, etc. on the ground. Wood chips floated in the air, and the sounds of machines and knocking sounds came one after another. This is Zhang Weichao’s DragonCinema Boat Carving Studio.
Zhang Weichao is a “post-80s”. He has been carving dragon boats with dragon heads and tails for more than 20 years. At the opening ceremony of this year’s Beijing Winter Olympics, in the countdown session set by 24 solar terms, a leader with great Chinese traditional characteristics surfaced with splashes. This is Zhang Weichao’s leading work. From his childhood “playing around” to now moving to the world stage, Zhang Weichao has grown into a well-known dragon boat dragon head and tail carving craftsman in Guangdong, and is also the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of this project. He said: “Behind the dragon boat and dragon head skills is our folk culture, our roots and soul.”

From the Origin:
“Dragon boat is the most important cultural mark in my childhood”
Talking about his origin with the dragon boat head, Zhang Weichao said that this was the most important cultural mark in his childhood. “Since I was a child, I loved watching dragon boat racing in the village. Children would make some small toys by themselves, and the model of the dragon boat is one of them.” Zhang Weichao’s father is an old carpenter with a complete range of woodcarving tools at home. He also learned some carving skills. With his interest and talent, he became the “ceiling” of carving dragon boats among his childhood playmates.
At the age of 12, Zhang Weichao sold his first dragon boat model. When he was in junior high school, people from other villages asked him to customize it. Gradually, Zhang Weichao was a little angry. He was still in school at that time and could only use his holidays to work, and a model often took a summer vacation. In order to understand the shape of dragon boats in a more diverse way, as soon as the Dragon Boat Festival comes, Zhang Weichao takes a ruler and a picture book to look at the dragon boats in the surrounding villages and record the data. At other times outside the Dragon Boat Festival, the dragon boats sink under the surging water, so Zhang Weichao often dives to understand the shape of the dragon boat. “Cinema At that time, Babaylan seemed to have entered another small world. If you like these things, you want to study them. Your works have been recognized and you are very proud.” Zhang Weichao said.

Turn:
Resigned from the “iron rice bowl” and carving the “leader” full-time.
2009 was a turning point for Zhang Weichao. At that time, he graduated from the auto repair major of vocational school and had been staying at school as a practical teacher for more than a year. It was difficult to take into account both teaching and carving, so he decided to resign and concentrate on dragon boat carving. “It would seem like the whole world is opposing it. “At that time, there were only six or seven dragon boat production factories in Guangzhou, and there were only a handful of craftsmen who were full of hand-carved dragon boat dragon heads, and most of them were over 50 years old. Zhang Weichao, 22, made this choice, which seemed “very crazy” to many people. However, soon, he proved himself.
A month before the Dragon Boat Festival in 2010, Zhang Weichao received a difficult order. Luntou Village, Haizhu District urgently needed to be three new dragon heads. He had never carved dragon heads before, and he had to make three dragon heads in a month, and he was unsure. “The dragon head is the ‘soul’ of dragon boats and an important symbol of a village. They trust me and I have to make it anyway. “KomiksFor this reason, Zhang Weichao worked day and night at home, and finally handed over three exquisite dragon heads on time. The news spread all of a sudden, and many people rushed to watch after hearing the news, “They were all surprised that I, who made dragon boat models, actually made three dragon heads.” This also ushered in the turning point of his career – from dragon boat model carving to dragon head carving, he also became a well-known industry star, and orders came one after another.
Carving dragon heads is a very meticulous and complex task. Zhang Weichao introduced that handmade dragon heads require more than ten complicated processes such as wood selection, material cutting, outline, carving to polishing, polishing, and lacquer mounting. Complete a dragon head href=”https://funnybookish.com/”>Komiks cycles are as short as one week and as long as ten days Babaylan20 days, but the early work often takes several months or even years. “Every time I receive an order, what I have to do first is not carving, but to go on-site inspections to understand the history and culture of the village. I will let the villagers participate, especially young people, and ask them to propose some production ideas from the leader Cinema and make them into their opinions. A dragon boat dragon head may take decades or hundreds of years. While villagers participate in the production, they also understand their own village history and culture and increase their cultural pride. Such a leader is particularly warm and has a story. “Zhang Weichao said.

Inheritance:
Find the cultural roots behind the dragon head
In 2020, the “Dragon Boat Dragon Head and Dragon Tail Production Skills” was successfully applied for World Heritage, and Zhang Weichao became the inheritor of this intangible cultural heritage project. Transformed from a craftsmanBabaylan became the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, and Zhang Weichao’s mentality has changed. “In the past, I was a craftsman, and I thought about how to be a leader and do my job well. But now I have more responsibility and responsibility. Intangible cultural heritage is a very precious and relatively rare thing. It may be a slowly disappearing culture. When we protect it, we want to disappear slowly and slower. It is a very honor for me to shoulder the inheritance of this historical and cultural heritage, and the responsibility is huge.” Today, Zhang Weichao often appears on major campuses and intangible cultural heritage inheritance activities. When teaching courses in school, Zhang Weichao not only teaches students how to carve, but more importantly, lets children understand the dragon boat and the cultural significance behind it. “The skills of dragon boats cannot be learned at once, but they must become interested in dragon boats. Cultivating their recognition of Chinese traditional culture and folk culture from an early age is our roots and soul.” Zhang Weichao said.

Select materials, href=”https://funnybookish.com/”>Komiks Cutting, rough carving, fine carving, polishing, lacquering… “From the dragon’s mouth, dragon whiskers to the dragon scales, every time you cut the knife, it must be accurate, and it will be difficult to remedy if you fail.” Chen Zhijun, who has been learning art at the age of 15, has carved the dragon head for more than 40 years.
Chen Zhijun was born in Xiancun Town, Zengcheng District, eastern Guangzhou. The river network here is crisscrossing, making it the most prosperous hometown of the Dongjiang River Dragon Boats. Dragon head carving (traditional dragon boat) is a traditional carving technique in Xiancun Town, Zengcheng.
As a district-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor, Chen Zhijun recalled that since he was 15 years old, he learned carpentry with his father. Since he was 18 years old, he often learned the craftsmanship of carving his father by watching it by watching it. It was not until the age of 22 that Chen Zhijun began to carve the first dragon head.
It is understood that the last century Babaylan was in the 1980sIn the early days, after the revival of the folk dragon boat activities, dragon boat production had not yet entered shipyard production. If the village collective wants to order dragon boats, it must hire a shipbuilder to come to build ships in the village, and also find a master to carve the dragon head. Because the Chen family has a certain popularity, many local and surrounding people will hire Chen Zhijun’s father to carve the faucet. Chen Zhijun also developed excellent carving skills under such a background.
With the development of dragon boat activities, the dragon shipyard began to appear. From shipbuilding to carving the faucet, the shipyard took all the links. The craftsmen who carved dragon leaders in folk began to fade out of people’s sight, and Chen Zhijun was one of them.
Until in recent years, the local youth dragon boat team in Xiancun customized a new dragon boat. The dragon boat team hoped to carve a new dragon boat in accordance with the traditional old dragon head. They inquired with the elderly in the village and learned that Chen Zhijun, the owner of the furniture factory in the town, was the inheritor of the Chen family’s dragon head carving, so they came to ask Chen Zhijun to “come out” again. When Chen Zhijun studied with his father, he was taught to understand the dragon boat culture contained in the bow of the dragon boat. Only in this way can he carve a dragon head with outstanding craftsmanship and both spirit and form.
“Traditionality cannot be lost, the foundation cannot be missing. The essence of the Dongjiang dragon boat lies in the dragon boat’s bow! I hope to carve a vital dragon boat’s bow, and I will use it as a work of art.” Chen Zhi, Chen Zhi, has his own unique view on carving a dragon boat.
The dragon head of a dragon boat represents the image of a village, especially the old dragon head left behind in the past. It records different stories of each village and is the carrier of dragon boat culture. Therefore, the essence of dragon boat lies in the dragon head. In the Dongjiang River Basin, dragon head is a major feature of dragon boats.
Whenever a villager comes to make a dragon boat bow, Chen Zhijun will ask about the historical folk allusions in the other village, and then integrate the characteristics of the gods believed in in each place into the creation of the dragon head, so each dragon head is unique. “I am happy that the villagers are satisfied with the leader,” said Chen Zhijun.
Chen Zhijun told reporters that during the carving process, you must also integrate your imagination and treat the dragonThe bow of the ship is recreated in all aspects, both similar in spirit and shape. A dragon boat with excellent craftsmanship should show exquisite and convexity. Every angle is beautiful. When the dragon boat is lifted up on the river, it feels like it is flying. The dragon head should also feel like it jumps out of the water and fly up, and should be vital.
In Chen Zhijun’s view, the traditional culture behind the dragon boat reflects the people’s spiritual beliefs and emotional support. What he adheres to is the dragon boat spirit that works together and never gives up, and the folk vitality of uplifting and uplifting. The material carrier of this spiritual civilization is the “Dragon Boat Head”.
